Analysis of Heloise A Medieval Women

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Heloise was totally my perception of the difference in what women were like medieval. I felt that women in this period were weak-minded, obedient, chaste and ships. I hope that some women have been involved in sex before marriage, but I think these women have found this conduct as a disgrace. Heloise woman completely changed my misconceptions of the Middle Ages, it seems more like a woman of the twentieth century in his place and personal characteristics.

Heloise while not succumbing to her husband? S, Abelardo, his desire to join a convent, this action of Heloise? S is not of weakness but rather an indication of their innate strength. I think the weakness of women would have found another man, as Abelard was now unable to satisfy a woman physically. By joining the convent, Heloise Prove it was not a slave to human desires, but a slave, perhaps, the man who loved unconditionally. This kind of love that has to Abelard Heloise is a strong people who can not take the mind of another human being. His love has not disappeared at all, even if they have been separated for many years.

Heloise joined the convent for two reasons: Abelardo wants a judge and that the punishment for Abelard? S castration. Abelardo wrote in his History calamitatum Heloise who opposed their marriage and said? The world just what the sentence if a light is removed [Abelardo meaning] of the community? (Abelardo 70). It is clear that the convent Heloise regarded as punishment for marrying Abelard and his mutilation.

Many people might think that Heloise? Abelardo S is subject to weakness, but I do not. Heloise is a very intelligent, his offer was the result of the love you have for him, not weakness. It takes great strength of mind to put aside our own desires and put someone else? S before our own desires. This is what Heloise. She wrote in her letter to Abelard, “God knows that never sought anything in you except you, just wanted you, not his. I looked at the office no marriage, no party, and Monday was no pleasure, and I tried a reunion, as you well know, but yours? (Heloise 113). To be in love with someone that requires great force.

Even if Heloise experienced great success as a nun and an abbess, and was welcomed by many countries, there is no indication that Heloise is totally at the service of God in their roles as religious. Heloise wrote to Abelard:

This is not any sense of vocation which brought me to a girl to accept the austerities of the cloister, but your bid
alone, and if I do not deserve gratitude, May judge for yourself how my work is in vain. I can not wait for this reward from God, because it is true that he did nothing as
still love (Heloise 116).

Heloise regarded himself as a hypocrite, said that men who do not know his secret Nostalgie praised for his virtue. Abelardo wrote, “How can it be called repentance for sins, but the great mortification of the flesh, if the spirit’s will is sin and keep the fire with its old desires? (Heloise 132). This feeling is Heloise never gave herself completely to God, because he has always belonged to Abelardo. To cut himself in a convent where d? Heart is not in itself requires enormous forces.
